Who is Kitchen Sink Microscopy? We’re a couple of regular guys with an ambitious goal: To bring everyone together through conversation – open discussion between people with differing views, fostering understanding and tolerance, sharing information, and examining challenging or uncomfortable topics, or just plain goofing off. Primarily we do this through a video conference chat. We invite all of you to share in our journey.
“For kitchen sink’s sake!”
The name “Kitchen Sink Microscopy” is derived from the fact that we analyze and scrutinize a broad variety of ideas and concepts. We’ll thoroughly investigate practically anything.
“Thanks for deep sink diving with us.”
We believe the conversation is never over. No analysis or conclusion ever fully settled. We will often revisit previously discussed topics in the hope that we’ll all get closer to the truth. Constructive criticism, fact checking, and error correcting are always welcomed.
After all, no one is perfect.

Casey Rochefort
“There is only one good, knowledge; and one evil, ignorance.”
-Socrates
Adopted at birth and reunited with his biological family 20 years later, Casey has a perspective of both nature and nurture; a breeding ground for his passion for mysteries, intrigue, and deep philosophical wondering.
With a past peppered with a multitude of experiences, Casey has been a cook, a delivery driver, a small business owner (with Erik), in a band (again, with Erik), was on the path to become an English literature teacher, a two-time cancer survivor, an author of the book “Beating the Odds without Any gods,” and a biologist and laboratory manager.
Keeping fit, both mentally and physically are paramount. Writing music is his passion, therapy, and mode of expression. Avid Star Trek fan, and frequent quote-dropper of the British sci-fi sitcom Red Dwarf, Casey is always ready with a quick-witted quip – and Kitchen Sink Microscopy isn’t scripted!
A spiritual atheist capable of critical thinking with an open mind to the unexplained, Casey is a walking contradiction, and frequently has unorthodox ideas about how best to improve the world through (non-Hipster) Humanism. (Hipster what? Check out our first Minute Microscopy…)

Erik Rosenbladt
A DIY enthusiast and Viking descendant, Erik loves learning, teaching, and exploring. With little formal education, he enjoys leaping headfirst in to an unfamiliar project purely for the sake of acquiring new skills and knowledge. Fiercely independent, Erik aims to imbue others with the same self-reliant, adventurer’s spirit.
Being a polyamorous polymath atheist-agnostic anarchist, Erik tends to be a bit of an outsider. Though he may be an introvert and naturally shy, Erik very much enjoys a heated philosophical debate, or an opportunity to share the things he’s learned with others. Though his ideological alignment might seem at odds with a lot of people, he is nevertheless focused on uncovering convergent, rather than divergent, ideals with those he meets. You know, making friends.
Interests? Yes. All of them. His primary interest is art. Music (particularly songwriting), painting, drawing, sculpting, woodcraft, photography, and film making. Secondarily: engineering, science, and electronics. Programming, circuit building, robotics, welding, hacking, astronomy/space. Tertiary interests include such things as survivalism, prepping, auto mechanics, firearms, tools, the occult, aliens, conspiracies, and more…
